EP1K Coastal - Eugene to Petaluma 1000K

Point-to-Point Northern California Coastal Route

Time limit: 75 Hours, ACP

Ride Fee: $150 refundable to Aug 1, 70% to Sept 1, 50% to Sept 15. Non-refundable after Sept 15.

Route Description: 

Point-to-point. Starting in Eugene OR, out to the coast at Florence; south following US-1 on the Pacific Coast Bikeroute thru Reedsport and Coos Bay, down the Oregon coast into California thru Arcata and Eureka, thru the Avenue of the Giants and continuing down CA-1 to Fort Bragg and Point Arena, climbing over the Sonoma coust, then inland up the Russian river to finsh in Petaluima, CA. (tentative, pending RUSA approval)


Riders are expected to be entirely self-sufficient. Riders will have the option of either one of two options for bag drops: the even break 210/210/205 miles at Gold Beach/Garberville/Petaluma, and a progressive break 240/245/140 miles at Brookings/Fort Bragg/Petaluma (see map above). With the exception of bag drops, riders cannot rely on vehicle ride support. Riders will need to rely on local services and should be prepared for long distances between services. Limited food options will be available and few of the small towns along the coast have 24 hr services, riders should plan ahead. Motel accommodations are the responsibility of the ride participants. 

Riders must be familiar with RUSA rules for riders and adhere to RUSA rules at all times durring the brevet
